BOUQ — Branding, App Design & Full Identity System
A bold and intuitive brand identity crafted to position Bouq as the smart, user-friendly platform that cuts through the noise of social media marketing.
Overview: Social media is loud—filled with endless scrolling, likes, shares, and algorithm-driven ads that often go unheard. For businesses, this means their messages are drowned out; for users, it means relevant ads are left to chance. Bouq introduces a new way to hear and be heard: a dedicated app designed to amplify voices and connect businesses with audiences more directly. For business owners, Bouq provides a clear, uncluttered advertising channel, free from oversaturation. For users, it offers a streamlined directory of promotions across industries, making discovery effortless through browsing or targeted search. I was commissioned to create the brand from the ground up, ensuring that Bouq’s visual identity and digital experience communicated simplicity, clarity, and reliability.
My role: Lead Designer — brand strategy, app design, app icon design, app store screenshots, visual identity system, iconography for services and products, social media templates, stationery, marketing collateral, digital and printable assets, and full brand guideline book.
Challenge: The main challenge was to differentiate Bouq from traditional social platforms while still feeling familiar and approachable. The identity needed to balance professionalism for business owners with accessibility for everyday users. It had to convey trust, innovation, and ease of use across app interfaces, advertising materials, and digital campaigns. Additionally, the branding had to scale effectively — from app icons and UI components to large-format promotional collateral — without losing clarity or cohesion.
Approach: The process began with research into social media advertising behaviors, app-first branding systems, and user-centered digital platforms. Moodboards explored bold yet clean visual directions that emphasized clarity and communication, paired with a versatile color palette to stand out in app stores and digital environments. I developed three branding directions before refining the chosen one into a complete identity system. The design work extended into UI/UX for the app, ensuring consistency between branding and user experience. A custom iconography system was developed to represent the platform’s wide range of services and product categories, supporting both functionality and brand recognition. The system was consolidated into a full brand guideline book, equipping Bouq with everything needed for long-term scalability.
Deliverables: Logo design, brand style guide, app icon design, app UI/UX design, app store screenshots, iconography for services and products, social media templates, stationery, marketing collateral, digital and printable materials, and full brand guideline book.
Outcome: The final identity positioned BOUQ as a forward-thinking alternative to traditional social media advertising: clear, user-friendly, and built for effective communication. The cohesive brand system allowed Bouq to establish trust with businesses while offering users an intuitive, enjoyable experience. Its bold yet accessible visuals stood out in app stores and digital spaces, while the detailed guideline book provided a comprehensive roadmap for consistent growth and application across all channels.
