Dom Tak Podcast — Branding, Logo & Digital Identity
A vibrant, rhythmic, and culturally rich brand identity designed to position Dom Tak as the go-to Arabic podcast that documents and celebrates the diverse sounds of our region’s music.
Overview: Music is one of the strongest vessels of culture and memory, and Dom Tak takes listeners on a sonic journey through the many genres, traditions, and evolutions of music across the Arab world. Produced under Sowt Podcast, the show serves as both a documentation and celebration of regional music, bringing forward stories that are as diverse as the rhythms themselves.
I was commissioned as lead designer to refine the existing logo and expand it into a complete visual identity system for the podcast, ensuring it worked seamlessly across all podcast platforms, YouTube, and social media channels. The brand had to be as dynamic and expressive as the music it represents, while staying consistent and scalable across all touchpoints.
My role: Lead Designer — brand strategy, creative direction, logo facelift, digital identity system, typography system, illustration elements, podcast platform assets, YouTube channel branding, social media templates, merchandise design (stickers, pins, keychains, t-shirts), and full brand guideline book.
Challenge: The main challenge was to capture the essence of music and rhythm in a visual identity without relying on clichés. The brand needed to reflect cultural authenticity while also appealing to modern podcast audiences. Since Dom Tak lives across small digital thumbnails as well as larger visual spaces, such as YouTube banners and merchandise, the identity had to be flexible, energetic, and unmistakable.
Approach:  The process began with research into Arabic musical heritage and visual traditions, drawing inspiration from rhythmic patterns, geometric motifs, and contemporary podcast branding. I explored three conceptual directions: minimal and rhythmic, expressive and illustrative, and bold and geometric. The selected direction combined cultural depth with vibrant visual energy.
The final identity centered on a refined logo paired with a dynamic pattern system inspired by Arabic ornamentation, reinterpreted through colorful shapes and rhythmic compositions. Typography and a lively color palette were chosen to convey movement and playfulness, while supporting graphics provided flexibility across platforms. The branding extended into merchandise and physical touchpoints—such as stickers, pins, and t-shirts—creating tangible connections with listeners and bringing the rhythmic spirit of the identity into everyday life.
Deliverables: Logo facelift, brand style guide, digital identity system, typography system, illustration elements, podcast cover artwork, social media templates, YouTube assets, merchandise (stickers, pins, keychains, t-shirts), and marketing collateral for digital campaigns.
Outcome: The final identity positioned Dom Tak as a distinctive and culturally resonant Arabic music podcast, visually echoing the energy and rhythm of the stories it tells. The cohesive system gave Sowt Podcast a brand that stands out in a crowded digital space, while merchandise created a tangible extension of the identity for fans. With its bold, rhythmic visuals and flexible design system, Dom Tak is set to grow as a flagship podcast documenting the soundscape of the Arab world.
